For clients under the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program, Metro Housing|Boston does not conduct inspections of any kind for this program but is required to have an inspection on initial lease up. Unlike the Section 8 program, we do not require annual inspections after lease up.
Who does the inspections for Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program?
If the unit is located in Boston:
The inspection is scheduled by the prospective owner with the Boston Inspectional Services Department once the tenant is approved to move from our agency. You can contact them at (617)635-1010 or ISDHousing@cityofboston.gov . Boston ISD is located at:

The prospective owner will need to contact them to set up an inspection with our form: (https://www.boston.gov/departments/inspectional-services). We do not have a specific time frame when the inspection will be scheduled and do not cover inspection fees.
If the unit is located outside of Boston:
If the unit is located outside of Boston, the prospective owner will need to contact the board of health where the unit is located for an inspection once the tenant is approved to move from our agency. The prospective owner will need to contact them to set up an inspection with our form. We do not have a specific timeframe when the inspection will be scheduled and do not cover inspection fees.
