If you have received a termination letter, it will state the reason for your pending termination. Please read the letter carefully:
As stated in the Family Responsibilities and Important Program Information form which is signed by you (the head of household) each recertification, the family is required to follow rules of the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. If anyone living in the household violates any of these obligations, the family may be terminated from the program.
Part of this form and under the ‘The family must not’ section, the family must not:
- Commit fraud, bribery, or any other corrupt or criminal act in connection with the program.
- Participate in drug-related criminal activity or violent criminal activity or other criminal activity that threatens the health, safety or right to peaceful enjoyment of other residents and persons residing in the immediate vicinity, or threatens the health or safety of the owner, property management staff, or staff of the Agency.
If you have received a letter for termination due to criminal activity, this means that it has been reported to our agency you or a member of your household has or is engaging in criminal activity. All reports are investigated and verified. You as the head of household are responsible for any criminal activity committed by you and your household members.
